A 4 year old boy has been dead because a family dogs attacked on him in the backyard of his Lower Valley home, according to police.
This tragic incident happened about 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 9100 block of Morelia road near North Loop Drive.
4-year-old boy Jacob Brooks was left by his mother in an enclosed trampoline in the backyard. 4 dogs were already there.
Boy was alone in the backyard so the 4 dogs attacked on him and left him badly injured.
Now the dogs turned over to the animal service. The boy’s mother placed into protective custody and rushed to the doctors, according to police.
A witness talked to the KFOX14 early Friday about the attack.
Witness named Albert Hernandez told, he was playing football when he heard a woman crying and saying, her son ran away.
He did not think that kid would go far, he checked the backyard where he found the dogs.
“So I jumped over the gate, and that’s when I found the dogs in one corner. The far left of the house,” Hernandez said. “I got closer and closer, and that’s when they realized (the dogs were) coming. The first (dog) attacked me, which was the biggest one … I had to hit it in the face, and that’s when it ran.”
No charges are expected to be filed.
The witness said, it was a chaotic scene that ended tragically.
“The ambulance came, and when we saw the people who live there come out of the house crying, I imagined right way (what might have happened) … They have a lot of dogs, and aggressive dogs — Pit Bulls and German Shepherds, big and small, about 10 dogs — and young children,” Ramon Payan, who lives across the street from the home, said Friday.
“You imagine right away what might have happened… but we never thought the boy could have died. He was only four,” he added. “They practically ate him.”
Payan said he believes two women and about three children live at the house, including a baby.
“They (the family) were torn apart for the boy,” Payan said. “It was ugly, as one can imagine. They were screaming because of what happened. They threw themselves on the ground. He had already passed away. It had already happened and they couldn’t do anything now. Even when they were taken in the police car, they were still screaming and screaming.”
